Now I pay for the time dialation

Okay, who sped up all the clocks and keeps ripping days off the calendar? Everything is just flying by lately.

My commute is too short, cause I really want to listen to my current book on CD, Ender’s Shadow.  Card is using lots of long, drawn-out,  and sometimes run-on sentences to express the character’s rapid internal monologue, due to his heightened intelligence.

Evenings with my toddler are short because its dark early, he’s tired because he’s growning, and because I’m busy with household stuff while my wife works. Time with my wife is short, did I mention she’s working late.

This weekend, I have planned a hyper-rapid visit with an old friend from the DC area in Phoenix for a conference. That’s 3 hours from here, and I’m going to make the trip 4 times in three days, so that she can see our town, jobs, and home in Southern Arizona. Should be a fun whirlwind of catching up and driving. I’m definitely taking the book on cd with me.

We’ve mostly recovered from Christmas, but the dang tree is still up, and a box of ornaments refuses to return to the garage. Some crazy plan about photo-archiving and recording the who/when/why of recieving the ornaments.

I should be working on that at night when my wife is working, but instead I keep making plans to watch movies with friends. The way I see it is: If today was my last day on earth, would I rather be remembered for having an organized house, or having good friends that will miss me?

Sigh. My apologies to Mr. King, Jr. that I will be using his day to finish up Christmas clean-up.

It’s NOT a crazy plan to photo archive the ornaments!! I swear! But we’ll do your childhood ornaments next year. I want that box to go away too.
    :)
